ezPicPoster:
The tool ezPicPoster relieves a lot of work from you:
- it can create thumbnails,
- upload files to your webspace and
- generate the appropriate EZcode or HTML-Code.
Alternative:
to make an image accessible for everyone, it needs to be transferred to a webserver on the internet,
after that, you can manually link to the files(s) at our board by using EZcodes.
EZcode: link to an image without a preview

EZcode: link to an image including a preview
[link=www.domain.de/bild01.jpg][/link]
(th_bild01.jpg is the small preview image)
Important! Always pay attention to the correct spelling
(UPPERCASE-lowercase), e.g. .jpg or .JPG
With registration:
Free webspace providers are e.g.:
- freenet.de,
- heim.at,...
In case of creating an account just for posting files you should also upload a small standard website (e.g. index.htm with some content).
Otherwise the provider might remove your account (because there is traffic caused without a website on the webspace)!
On the PinkDevils Board mainpage, the forums are divided into various categories.
Please choose the right category for posting. In case you have accidently posted into the wrong section, just add "please delete" or "please move" to your topic.
05. Am I allowed to link from outside Sites/Postings (Webfinds)?
Basically: always upload images/videos you found on the web to own webspace or to a pic-host yourself!
With hosts like rapidshare.de it is mostly not necessary to upload files by yourself,
just ask the person who posted the images/movies/rars/... you want to link to, if he agrees to it.
Most of the posters will do so (because some providers offer credits/points/premium accounts for often downloaded files).
Hints for posting webfinds:
- provide credits in your posting (Credits to xyz | Credits to original scanners/cappers/...).
- do not link to files on webspace that does not belong to you.
- pay attention to the boardrules and the quality (PD is a HQ-Board) of webfinds while posting.
You can add a link to your site in your posting (e.g. in your signature),
but keep in mind that neither large images nor linking graphics (banners) are wanted here.
Important:
- no porn links,
- no sites containing fake pictures,
- no offtopic sites (without celeb content)
07. Where can I register here, and is it necessary?
Basically:
- for visiting the public areas of the board, there is no registration necessary.
- for starting or replying to a posting, you need to register.
The registration only takes a little time once.
In addition, your nickname will be registered exclusively for you.
11. I have further questions, suggestions and ideas!
Please post your questions in the [ tipps & tricks ] forum!
It is checked regularly by our admins and mods.
The F.A.Q. will be updated, in case new problems occur.
You should definitely put your ideas into this forum: [ wazzzuuuupppp ]
Freenet.de asks for username & password:
This problem is caused by your download manager. There are 2 possible solutions:
1. right click the link and then choose "Save target as" or "Save link as"
or
2. apply the following settings to your download manager:
- User Agent: Anonymizer or Mozilla 4.0 für MSIE 5.0 Windows 98
- disable Cookies
- send "referer" (with HTTP request)
(- generated by URL with Getright)
14. Problems with downloading One-Click Pic-Hosts?
Do you have problems with downloading from one of theese pic-hosts?:
imagevenue, imageshack, mediaupload, dumpanimage, paintedover, imagehigh, supload, imagethrust, picpile,
keepmyfile, ihostphotos, theimagehosting, picturesuplod, imagedemon
There is a little tool that might help you called PicnickerPro
With its help you can download images from these pic-hosts automatically without needing to open every single image page.
Useful hints:
- you will probably need these VB-Runtimes.
- Here you can find a short manual for the PicnickerPro.
15. Problems with displaying images from Imageshack.us?
In case you only see "frogs" at this there is a problem with the referrer.
There 2 easy ways to solve this problem:
1. install the extension web developer.
- for Firefox
- for Mozilla
Then you can choose to disable referrer logging in the added drop down menu (Screenshot 1).
Through this, thumbnails and manual download will be working again. If the option for referrer logging is disabled (Screenshot 2)
it will be also possible to download with FlashGet.
or
2. Disable referrer logging in Firefox.
- enter "about:config" into the adress bar
- search for "network.http.sendRefererHeader"
- set the value to 0
options:
* 0: never send the referrer header
* 1: send the referrer header when clicking on a link
* 2: send the referrer header when clicking on a link or loading an image. (default)
17. How can I create thumbnails (preview images)? + instruction for posting
ezPicPoster:
The easiest way is using the ezPicPoster (see question #02),
because it helps you generating thumbs and post-code!
alternative manual:
It is very simple to use installed image viewers (IrfanView, ACDSee) or other software.
PinkDevils recommends the freeware program STG Thumb, which is flexible and easy to understand.
Creating Thumbnails (mit STG Thumb):
- Start the program and click "browse" at the top left.
- Now choose the folder containing the images.
- Below you can set options like size, quality and name. (hint: create thumbs with th_ as prefix)
- Disable the checkbox for "generate HTML".
- If you do not want thumbnails for all images, then mark the file(s) on the left and click "exclude".
- Now choose the target directory and click on "convert".
- Done. The Thumbnails have been created.
Post images with preview (Thumbnails):
Upload the images to webspace with an FTP program (of course the thumbnails, too).
Now the images have to be linked on the board; this can be done by using EZcodes or with..
18. I am bothered by all the ad banners, how do I get rid of them?
Depending on your browser there are a lot of tricks to get rid of the disturbing advertisements.
One of the most effective solutions is the Firefox/Mozilla extension - AdBlock.
How to use:
- right click on the advertisement you want to block
- choose "AdBlock Image..." (or Background / iFrame /...)
- done
Hint:
Most providers have own subdomains Subdomains for their advertisements, e.g.: http://ads.ezboard.com/www/php?.........
Instead of blocking every single ad-banner you can just block the entire domain, so the ads are no longer displayed.
(for this example http://ads.ezboard.com)
Keep in mind here not to block domains you may probably need, but in case you have chosen a wrong one
the site can be easily removed from the block-list in the AdBlock preferences.
